A B O U T

Hi, I’m Kyler. A Denver based tattoo artist who occasionally returns to my hometown of San Diego to haunt it’s sea-salted alleys.

Before I ever felt the hum of a tattoo machine in hand I spent 12 years as a fine artist, evoking emotions of a time past, gothic vengeance, grim bright fantasies, feminine mysticism, and everything in between with a charcoal pencil or a brush pen. Eventually, I realized that I wanted to make art that moved, breathed, and bled a little. The transition to tattooing was the natural solution.

While I still make room for my fine art, I have found myself falling more and more in love with this tattooing, and with that love comes a profound respect. I will not do our ancestors an injustice in this ancient ritual we have been participating in for the last several thousand years.

…I think it’s the respect, at least. It could be my cripplingly neurotic nature. Either way, I give this my all.

I was honored to be listed among San Diego Magazine’s Top 10 best tattoo artists within my first year and a half of tattooing. My passion for this art is still full steam ahead straight into the dusk of my second.

Tattooing has a magic to it. They are positive affirmations, words of power, reminders, eye catchers, the very soul worn on the flesh, singular to you. To own one is to claim your identity. I will always hold a deep respect for the ancient roots of this ritual, a ritual older than history, a sacred story which I am blessed to be a part of.

I approach each tattoo like a spell; deliberate, permanent, powerful.
